The PDP will get up to reconstruct Nigeria – Gbenga Olawepo -Hashim

The former presidential candidate, dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, said that the PDP is ready for a national return, stating with confidence that “the PDP will raise again”.

Speaking during a high -level commitment with the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) at the headquarters of Wadate Plaza of the party in Abuja, dr. Hashim said that, despite the past challenges, the internal divisions and the defections, the PDP remained the only truly national party with the ability to save Nigeria in 2027.

“From the beginning, the PDP was built as a national platform. Since 1998, there has been a considerable presence of PDP in practically all the electoral units across the country,” said Hashim.

“This legacy remains alive, and it is that national diffusion that makes PDP the only credible alternative to the APC”.

He rejected the fears for the decrease in the decrease in the party, underlining that the basic base of the PDP remains intact, even if some elected officials have deserted under pressure or political blackmail.

“Do not be discouraged by those who have gone. The real strength of any party is not in a few powerful individuals, but in its people, and people are still with the PDP.”

Hashim also praised the ambassador Umaru Damagun, the reciting national president of the PDP, for his constant leadership during the turbulent periods.

“The wisdom and calm with which Amb. Damagun kept the reins of this part commendable. He kept the house standing when the others wanted to pieces.”

With a clear mention of the head towards the presidential race of 2027, Dr. Hashim urged the party to present a credible and visionary candidate who will prioritize national security, economic awakening and social justice.

“The Nigerians are looking for a new type of leadership. The PDP must offer that hope. With unity, discipline and courage, the PDP will raise again, not only to win the elections but to reconstruct Nigeria.”

The candidate for the presidency, who was the first deputy secretary of the national elected advertising of the party, joined other founding fathers in a meeting of the founders of the party held at the Naf Kado Center, Abuja.
