Falcons land that won in Abuja, was set for the trophy parade, dinner with Tinubu

The Super Falcons of Nigeria has landed in the Federal Abuja Capital territory after their victory at the 2024 African Nation Cup (Wafcon).

The team, led by coach Justin Madugu, defeated host Nation Morocco 3-2 in the thrilling final on Saturday to win the 10th Wafcon title.

Nigerian women held a trophy parade for today also dinner with Ball President Ahmed Tinubu.

Super Falcons arrived on Monday afternoon and was received at the time of the arrival by Governor Hope Uzodinma (IMO), Uba Sani (Kaduna), and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (KWARA) and other top government officials.

Community members also came out in large quantities to welcome the contingent from Morocco.

Nigeria has a fantastic sightseeing in Morocco, coming out successfully with the Mission X campaign of the Nigerian football federation.

The team started their campaign with a 4-0 win over Tunisia, then defeated Botswana 1-0 before a goalless draw with Algeria in the group stage.

Nigerian women continue to paralyze Zambia 5-0 in the quarter-finals, and win 2-1 against the defending champions of South Africa in Semifas, before completing the extraordinary 3-2 return against the host in the final.
