The captain of Super Falcons Rasheedat Ajibade shared his stimulating journey from humble beginnings to the celebrity of football, telling how once he sold olive oil and local drinks such as Kunu and Zobo during the church programs before going up to continental fame.
Ajibade testified on Saturday during the August edition of the “Power Must Change Hands” service at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry (MFM) Prayer City in the state of Ogun.
The Atletico Madrid striker, who led Nigeria to Vittoria to Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) in Morocco, spoke of how his faith, hard work and perseverance have guided his career.
“Every time things are difficult, both in my club and with the national team, please. I do my part through hard work, but I never forget to seek God’s help,” he said.
Reflecting on his first life, Ajibade added: “Once I was one of those girls who failed olive oil, Kunu and Zobo during the liberation services. But today I give glory to God”.
He encouraged the congregation to remain firm in faith and determination. “Don’t give up. Keep praying, continue to fast, continue working and continues to believe,” he urged.
Ajibade, a prominent artist in the Wafcon campaign in Nigeria, was appointed tournament player and has ensured three women of the Match Awards. Despite having scored only a goal, his leadership and influence have been crucial for the success of the Super Falcons.
