More than 100 journalists, photographers, and war correspondents have signed a petition that demands “direct foreign press access and is not monitored to the Gaza Strip”.
This petition was signed by a prominent journalist who works for global news organizations. This is part of the freedom initiative to report, which was started by the photographer winning the Award Andre Liohn.
Signing including Sky News Special Correspondent Alex CrawfordAnnouncer Mehdi Hasan, Christiane Amanpour and Head of CNN International Correspondents, as well as iconic war photographers Don McCulllin.
They updated the call for Israel and Hamas to allow foreign journalists to Gaza to report independently about war, something they had done from the beginning of the latest Conflict in 2023.
The petition goes further to say if “parties who fight” ignore the appeal, media professionals will be supported to enter Gaza Without approval “in a legitimate way, independently, collectively, or coordinating with humanitarian actors or civil society”.
This states: “Unlimited and independent access to foreign journalists is needed, not only to document the ongoing cruelty but to ensure that the truth of this war is not determined by those who control weapons and narratives.
“Gaza is the most urgent case, but it is not the only one. This reflects the worst pattern in silencing journalists and limiting the press. If the democratic world really intends to push back to the erosion of this freedom, it should not close his eyes to Gaza.
“Defending the press access there is a defense of press freedom everywhere.”

Sky News along with other global news organizations rely on Palestinian journalists, local journalists and humanitarian workers to provide details of what happened in Gaza.
Apart from the brave and important jobs of these people, the freedom to report the initiative said that nearly 200 Palestinian journalists have been killed, making the Israeli-Hama War “the deadliest conflict for the press that was recorded”.
Last month, Associated Press, AFP, BBC News and Reuters issued a joint statement that said that reporters also struggled to feed themselves and their families while working on behalf of their organization in Gaza.
It happened after the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) said Gaza suffered “Mass Hunger Human” Because the Israeli blockade about assistance to the bag.
As well as direct authorization for foreign journalists to access Gaza, the freedom to report the call of petition to respect the status protected by journalists under international law and for government support and press freedom organizations.
