The Governor of the State of Osun, Ademola Adeleke, has denied the claim that his government spent N3.1 billion for domestic and international trips in six months.
Allegations, which are circulating in the media, suggest that expenditure far exceeds the allocation for several ministries and other departments in the state
In a statement issued on Monday by the Head of the Press Secretary, Olawale Rasheed, the Governor described the report as misleading, inaccurate, and driven by political motives.
He clarified that the number referred was not exclusively for travel but represented a full year budget allocation for training, capacity building, and overhead in more than 100 ministries, departments and institutions (MDA) in states.
“There are no smoking weapons. This publication is an effort that failed by the opposition to confuse legal expenses related to official tasks, staff training, and critical overhead in all services,” the statement said

“Governor Adeleke is only one of several public officials whose costs for training and official trips are arrested under the consolidated state budget.”
He urged the community to consider the long -term values and benefits of the expenditure, mainly because it is related to capacity building and investment promotion.
Adeleke also described the important international involvement attended by the Adeleke government during the first half of 2025.
This includes the Investment Business Investment Conference, where the governor leads the delegation to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ESG Management Services UK Ltd., which aims to attract investment in agriculture, manufacturing, dense minerals, and other key sectors.
He added that many state institutions had carried out their training programs at the beginning of the year to anticipate political activities which were expected to increase before the 2026 election season.
