A 17 -year -old Nigerian student, Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, has been named the best world in English skills in 2025 Teeneagle Global Finals held in London, England.

Nafisa, a native AHD of Yobe State and a Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC) student, came out at the peak in front of more than 20,000 other participants from 69 countries.

The Teeneagle competition is an internationally recognized contest that assesses English skills, critical thinking, and communication skills among students from English-speaking countries and not in English and Nafisa’s victory is celebrated as a great honor for countries that also encourage them to become global academic spotlight.

Nafisa’s victory, which has triggered a celebration at Yobe and throughout the country, was confirmed in a statement on Tuesday by the head of his family, Hassan Salifu, who said his success was as a result of dedication, discipline, and support that allowed the government of the state of Yobe.

“The global success of our daughter will not be possible without visionary support for education by His Majesty, Governor Mai Mala Buni, whose efforts have brought international honor to our states and nations,” Salifu said.

“Nafisa’s success is proof of the strength of education investment. The commitment of the Governor of Buni not only changed schools in the state but also positioned Yobe and Nigeria on the global stage,” he added.

He also noted that Nafisa defeated participants from native English-speaking countries, an extraordinary achievement that reflects its intelligence and preparation.
