Seadogs, thumb Keyamo directive to redevelop aviation security staff, others

National Association of Seadogs, also known as the confection of Pyrates, has praised the MINISTER OF AVORSATION AND AERSPAZIAL DEVELOPMENT, Directive Festus Keyamo, for a retreat to train the safety staff and review the conduct of the airlines staff.

Nas was reacting to the intervention of the Federal Government in the case of Ibom Air and his passenger, Miss Comfort Emmanson, directing the airline to withdraw the criminal proceedings against the passenger and the operators of the Nigeria airline (Aon) to raise his ban without flight on Emmanson.

The Mine of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo San, in a declaration of Wednesday published on his official X, @Fkeyamo, also directed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to restore the licenses of the Valowjet driver, the Ogoyi Oguing Captain and the Co-Pilota, the first officer Ivan Oloba.

He also asked the NCAA to reduce the ban without six months flight with the legend of Fuji, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam from 1 to one month.

Nas Cap’n, dr. Joseph Oteri, in a declaration, said that the law has improved the management of crises, impartial application and respect for human dignity.

He expressed satisfaction with the way Keyamo managed the cases Emmanson and Kwam 1.

Pyrates said that the reduction of the sanction imposed to Kwam 1 and the request for withdrawing criminal complaints against Emmanson was commendable.

Oteri stated that the intervention of the Minister, who underlined the de-Escalation, the reconciliation and development of the ability for aviation safety personnel, was a welcome step to deal with public concerns regarding fairness and consistency in the application.

“From the beginning, NAS clarified that our position was not to excuse or defend unruly behaviors, but to insist on the fact that all transgressors, both high -profile and unknown, must face the same legitimate consequences for the violations of the aviation safety protocols.

“The recognition of the minister who have been made of errors from all sides and his transition to review the cases in a holistic way, aligns with our request for justice which is uniform and corrective, not selective,” said Oteri.

The Association, however, warned that the clemency granted in these cases should not be interpreted as a tolerance for bad conduct in the aviation sector.

“While compassion is a virtue, deterrence is a duty. By going on, any passenger and airline staff must understand that the safety rules are not negotiable and the application must be blind to status, influence or public sympathy,” said OTERI.
