The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Thursday approached a Dennis Tamarakuro at the Federal High Court, Abuja, for alleged $ 71,795.41.
The commission in a statement on his platform X said the defendant, also known as Keisha Reynolds, was charged with a accusation of a Cyber crime.
He, however, pleaded guilty to the accusation and was sentenced to one year in prison by judge Emeka Nwite.

The statement reads: “Investigation, supported by intelligence from the Jackson Township Police Department in the United States, revealed that the details of the NGO Bank were compromised, with illegal results was washed through the exchange of Cryptocurrency Bitbit and Busha.
“EFCC investigator Ogunjobi Olalekan gave evidence showing Tamarakuro received 0.27 bitcoin twice from intermediaries, Libson Junior, and then withdraw $ 18,000 through Busha.
“The commission found more than $ 42,000 in cryptocurrency, with an additional $ 22,157.40 and $ 20,121.41 blocked by Bitbit and Busha, each.
“Following his guilty request, Judge Emeka Nwite sentenced Tamarakuro for one year in prison, with the N1 million fine option paid to the Federal Government.
“Prisoners are also directed to overthrow written statements from good behavior.”
