Congress of all Progressive (APC) in the state of Zamfara condemned the comments credited to the Governor Dauda Lawal about the security situation in the state.
The previous governor on Thursday blamed the federal government for endless murder in the state.
In a video posted on social media, Lawal stated that he knew exactly the leaders of the bandits who terrorized Zamfara but could not act because the security agent placed in the state only received orders from Abuja.
However, the APC publicity secretary in the state, Yusuf Idris, in a statement issued in Gusau described the Governor’s comments as unnecessary.
He said: “It is unfortunate for the Governor and Head of State Security Officers to say that he is aware of the movements of every bandit and his gang that operates in the state.
“It is unfortunate, the governor refused to provide intelligence reports to security agents who fight the bandits, day and night.
“APC as a party, we do not know why the Governor continues to ignore the problem of insecurity, giving bandits the opportunity to continue to kill and kidnap innocent citizens.

“The governor firmly told the media men that he knew all the bandits operating in the Zamfara forest and knew each of their movements.
“Therefore, as the head of state security officers, he consistently refused to take proactive steps towards them.
“But only says, if he has authority, he will end Banditri in the state within two weeks.”
The spokesman wondered why the governor did not approach the federal government to partner with him in an effort to clean up the state of the bandit.
“We notice that at several times, the governor always condemned the federal government under the APC,” Idris added.
