Lagos APC reprimanded Peter Obi for criticism of the Tinubu holiday

Lagos State Chapter from the Congress of All Progressive (APC) criticized the 2023 Labor Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for his comments on this new trip, the President of Tinubu Bola Tinubu abroad.

President Tinubu left Abuja on Thursday for a 10 -day work holiday in Europe, part of the annual leave of 2025. Obi, however, blamed the trip, with the reason that the President’s foreign journey who often created the impression of a leader who seemed increasingly agitated at home despite the urgent challenge of Nigeria’s economic and security.

Responding to a statement on Saturday, APC Lagos spokesman, Seye Oladejo, described Obi’s statement as an “opportunistic” and symptoms of his tendency to put himself into “every national conversation, regardless of relevance.”

He argues that questioning the presidential vacation is unnecessary and misleading.

“President Tinubu, like a responsible leader, is still given full direction and in active communication with his security and intelligence team even when a short vacation. The government does not stop just because a leader needs time to rest,” said Oladejo.

APC further accused Obi exploiting national issues for political relevance, reducing the challenges of complex governance to “bite and healthy sermons.” According to Oladejo, the moralization of former Anambra Governor who continues to reflect less patriotism and more despair for visibility.

“It is time for handling Obi to advise him precisely. A statesman is unable to sound anxious or misinformation. Nigeria needs credible and constructive opposition, not a professional complaint,” the statement said.

Oladejo stated that the APC government under Tinubu remains focused on reproducing the economy, strengthening national security, and restoring institutional confidence, and will not be disturbed by what he described as “Theater on Political Opportunist Performance.”
