NGX: Equities Market Consolidates in the previous profit with N254BN profit

The Nigerian equity market consolidates the previous day’s profits with N254 billion profit for investors on Tuesday.

This follows the surge in stock prices such as Regency Alliance Insurance PLC, Mecure Industries, and Etranzact International, among others, on the trading floor.

The Benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) rose to 139,796.11 points from 139,394.75 points recorded the previous day.

After five hours of trading in the capital market, the capitalization of equity increased to N88.4 trillion from N88.1 trillion posted by Bourse on Monday.

The extent of the positive market with 36 advanced shares, 19 shares declined, and the remaining 82 shares did not change in 25,334 agreements.

Regency Alliance Insurance PLC, Mecure Industries, and Etranzact International leads other strengthening with 10%, 9.92% and 9.73% growth in stock prices to be closed at N1.43, N21.60, and N12.40 from the previous N1.30, N19.6.5, and N11.30 per share.

Unilever Nigeria PLC, FTN Cocoa, and Union Ellah Lakes PLC led other price reductions with a decrease in stock prices of 9.79%, 9.40% and 8.76% to be closed in N63.15, N5.40, and N13.02 per share, down from the previous N70.00, N5.96, and N14.2.

In the volume index, the First City Monument Bank led trade with 202 million shares in 465 agreements, followed by Universal Insurance PLC, which was traded 63 million shares in 313 agreements.

The first bank parent company was traded 44 million shares in 526 agreements.

In the value index, the First City Monument Bank traded shares worth N2.0 billion in 465 agreements, followed by a guarantee of Trust Holding Co., which is traded by equity worth N1.5 billion in 1,172 agreements.

The first bank parent company traded shares worth N1.3 billion in 526 agreements.
