Emir Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has condemned the leaders of Nigeria and Nigeria for placing unwanted focus on tribes and religions while the whole world has moved its focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and climate change.
Sanusi, who made a statement on Saturday when speaking at the Second Kano International Poetry Festival (Kapfest) held in Kano, regretted that Nigeria had a bad leader for a long time with the country was still involved in the Ticket, still trapped in religious and ethnic discussions when other countries focused on more significant problems.
At the event organized by Poetic Wednesday Initiative (PWI), Emir noted that a good government was the key to saving the country from the current conditions, added that the country was not fortunate since independence.
“You rise and go down with the quality of your leadership and Nigeria already have bad leadership for a long time. You cannot give what you don’t have until we start to see the people we chose to lead us,” Emir said.
“And that’s the truth. I mean, in most of this country, you see people who lead you and you say, Oh my God, are this really the person? How do we end up here? You see it every day in the newspaper.

“You see it in the news. You see what is happening in the legislature. You see the type of debate that we experienced, the type of argument we have, the type of time we are in vain on problems that are completely unimportant, chirping.
“You see other countries, you see other parts of the world, people discuss climate change, discuss artificial intelligence.
“We are still talking about Yoruba or Igbo or Hausa, north or Christianity, you know, that is, we are still mukang in the debate. We are still in the conversation that we did in the 1960s,” he added.
Sanusi, however, challenged Nigerian youth to get up and take over the country from the old guards who had misinterpreted the country.
He also warned that the level at which the government in the country borrowed money and wasted that it would have a negative impact on the country’s economy in the coming years.
