Openai’s intelligence company has announced plans to launch new restrictions for its flagship chatbot users, ChatGPT, which is under 18 years old.
The company says the action is part of a broader effort to strengthen safety, ensure compliance with regulations, and create an age of age for younger users.
Openai CEO Sam Altman on Wednesday announced a number of new user regulations, including oaths to dramatically change how chatgpt interacts with users under the age of 18.

The post stated, “We put safety before the freedom and privacy of adolescents.” “We think a minor needs a lot of protection, and this is a new and strong technology.”
While complete details have not been disclosed, restrictions are expected to include sensitive content categories, limits on use, and supervision of parents or more stringent guardians.
Openai emphasizes that change will not affect the general availability of chatgpt but will place protection around how users under 18 access and interact with the platform.
