Meta Platforms has introduced a translation feature for its WhatsApp messaging service, with the aim of relieving crossed chats between its over 3 billion users.

Translations will be initially available in six languages ​​on Android devices and 19 languages ​​on iPhone, with multiple languages ​​to follow.

“The translations of the messages have been designed to protect the privacy of your chats. That’s why translations occur on your device in which WhatsApp cannot see them,” Meta said in a statement from Tuesday 23 September 2025.
