China to build the first African insulin plant in Nigeria …

The Chinese ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, announced the plans of his country to build the first local insulin production plant in Nigeria.

Yu revealed him on Wednesday in Abuja during a reception that marks the 76th anniversary of the Foundation of the People’s Republic of China.

He said this would transform the management of blood glucose levels in the blood, would prevent complications related to diabetes and would end the country’s dependence on imported insulin.

“Chinese companies are in negotiations with Nigeria to build the first local African insulin production plant, potentially placing Nigeria dependence on imported insulin and positioning of Nigeria as a hub for African medical biotechnology.

“This project is part of the tangible benefits of Chinese-nigerian cooperation, together with the recently completed Abuja water supply project, with a daily capacity of 480 cubic meters, which now provides clean water with almost three million people,” he said.

Yu also highlighted China’s support for the development of Africa which promotes the equal, pragmatic and efficient cooperation model.

He said that China has remained committed to supporting the integration of Africa and improve its ability to develop autonomous development.

The correspondent also reflected on the symbolism of both countries that celebrate their national days on October 1st.

“Both China’s national day and Nigeria’s independence day fall on the same day, October 1. It is a shared national memory that unites our two people,” he said.

He also celebrated individual stories of friendship and collaboration.

“Not long ago, since the first Nigerian women’s driver trained by Ccecc, Mrs. Issah Fatimah Abiola, known with her Chinese name Bai Yang, was honored with the” Friendship Envoy Award “of China, one of the only six global recipients.

“His story inspires many Nigerian women to fight for self-sufficiency, becoming a shining symbol of China-nigeria friendship.

“Equally impressive is a boy from a bilingual school in Kano, Ibrahim Ismail.

“The first time I saw the video when Ibrahim speaks Chinese mandarin, I felt totally amazed. It’s not just fluent, but without any accent. Ibrahim is with us today,” he said.

He also praised the steps of Nigeria to add the Chinese language to the new curriculum of the Senior secondary school.

“I think this is a wonderful news. It will serve as an important bridge to deepen the friendship of China-nigeria,” he said.

In addition, Senator Barau Jibrin, vice -president of the Senate, sent the greetings from President Bola Tinubu in China and praised their transformation journey and the contribution to strengthening the relationships between the two countries.

Jibrin, represented by Senator Babangida Hussini, underlined the determination of Nigeria to strengthen cooperation with China in the critical sectors.

“In recent decades, the relationship between Nigeria and China has blossomed in a global strategic partnership.

“It is a partnership defined not only by the signature of agreements, but also by tangible results in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, education, defense, trade and investments.

“As legislators in Nigeria, we commit ourselves to providing the qualifying environment, legal paintings and supervision mechanisms to ensure that these partnerships remain transparent, sustainable and of great impact for the benefit of future generations,” he said.
