Bandit was arrested celebrating a peace agreement in Katsina (video)

A video showing hundreds of heavy armed bandits and their soldiers celebrated successful conclusions from other dialogues in the state of Katsina that had appeared on social media.

In the video shared on the Katsina News Daily Facebook page, the bandits were seen involved in an improvised bicycle race with shots in the background.

The post that accompanies the video read:

“This is frightening; see how the locals and Fulani herds are armed with weapons invading dutsinma-katsina highway, competing with their motorbikes, to celebrate the signing of a peace agreement in the local government.”

In the past month, several communities in the state have become news to arrange peaceful meetings with bandits in an effort to persuade them to embrace peace and end terrorism.

The meeting has caused a variety of reactions among Nigerians, by cursing them.

However, others praised the initiative as a solution to crime in the north, especially the states of Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kebbi.
