Commissioner of Fubara Sacks affected by the Supreme Court’s decision

The Governor of the State of Rivers, Siminaayi Fubara, has fired all commissioners and other cabinet members following the Supreme Court’s decision.

The Puncak Court, in February, rejected the decision of the Victor Oko-Jumbo faction from the Rivers State Council Council to the Candidates for Commissioners submitted by the Governor during the political crisis in the state.

The court ordered 27 parliamentary members, led by Martins Amaewhule, to continue sitting.

Amaewhule, a loyalist from the Federal Capital Region (FCT), Nyesom Wike, was restored as a speaker of the Assembly.

Head of the Press Secretary for the Governor, Nelson Chukwudi, said in a statement at Port Harcourt that his school principal held a farewell speech session with officials in government buildings on Wednesday.

This event coincided with the celebration of Nigerian 65th independence anniversary held throughout the country.

Fubara thanked the cabinet members for their contribution to the development of the country in the last two years.
