Ajibade and Echegini fight against Madrid! PSG defends itself and beats Real Madrid 1-1 in the Champions League

Super Falcons stars Rasheedat Ajibade and Jennifer Echegini were involved as Paris Saint-Germain Women earned a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid Women in the UEFA Women’s Champions League at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium.

Both Nigerian internationals were involved from the start, with Ajibade playing a prominent role as PSG battled the Spanish giants in an entertaining European encounter.

Sports247 reports that Real Madrid got off to a blistering start to the match, taking the lead just two minutes into the match through Felicia Schröder, putting the home team ahead before PSG could settle into the match.

The initial setback forced the French to react, but Real Madrid continued to defend their lead as the match progressed.

PSG finally found their breakthrough in the 74th minute when Sakina Karchaoui converted a penalty to draw the visitors level.

The draw changed the tone of the match, as PSG searched for a possible winner, while Real Madrid remained determined to protect their home advantage.

Echegini’s evening came to an end in the 83rd minute, when she was replaced by Canadian midfielder Florianne Jourde, and PSG led the final stages of the match.

Despite the efforts of both teams, neither team could find the decisive second goal and the match ended 1-1.

For Ajibade and Echegini, the appearance represents another opportunity to compete at the highest level of European women’s club football as they continue to gain momentum ahead of their international commitments with the Super Falcons.
