10 Killed, 42 missing at Kogi Boat Mishap

At least 10 passengers were killed in a ship accident in the Kogi state on Tuesday.

However, 24 passengers have been saved by emergency respondents, while 42 others are still missing.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed the incident in a post on its X -grip on Thursday.

The body revealed that the incident occurred on Tuesday night when the ship, carrying around 80 passengers, overturned in the Niger River.

The post reads: “The boat departs from the Onugwa community in the Ibaji Regional Government area and is heading to Olushi Village before sinking.

“Unfavorable accidents have claimed several lives and made dozens disappear.”
