The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has swiped the President of the Ball Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him Nigeria failed in his role as the highest commander in the midst of increasing insecurity throughout the country.
In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by the Secretary of its national publicity, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party regretted what he called the “inadequate response” of the government of violence attacks that had spread even to the previous section of a peaceful state.
“As the Commander of the Nigerian armed forces, the President has a constitutional responsibility to protect life and property. His continuous participation in social and political events, despite increasing violence, raises questions about priorities,” Abdullahi said.
The party quoted new security violations in various countries, including attacks in nine regional regions in the state of Kwara where armed groups allegedly forced residents to surrender food, money and other resources. This also refers to the violent incident in Kogi, where travelers were killed and kidnapped, as well as the closure of more than 180 schools in North Nigeria because of continuous insecurity. The similar crisis, said the party, continued to hold the highlands, Zamfara, Benue, Niger, and Kaduna.
According to ADC, Abuja’s response was too far and symbolic, with the president not yet visited many of the most devastated communities. “The guarantee of government progress must be supported by a clear strategy and real results. The symbolic movement of unity cannot replace practical steps to overcome the insecurity,” the statement said.

To restore public confidence, ADC outlines a series of urgent recommendations, including:
– Official recognition of the actual crisis scale.
– Direct involvement with affected communities.
– Joint distribution is stronger than security institutions with local input.
– Regular public reports on incidents and progress.
– Transparent mechanism for monitoring security expenses.
“Nigeria faces deep security challenges. What the country needs now is a focused leadership, urgent operational actions, and measurable results,” Abdullahi emphasized.
ADC intervention emerged amid the increasing criticism of the Tinubu administration, with the parties opposition and civil society groups insist that the deterioration of unsafe to erode public trust and disrupt the local economy.
