
The Edo Unity League praised the government of the Federal State and Edo for facilitating the location of the Museum of West African Arts in the city of Benin, declaring that he would highlight the rich cultural heritage of Benin in the committee of the African cultural entities.
The group also declared that the museum’s position also confirmed the Benin nation as a center of the cultural microcosm in Africa and a truism that cannot be contaminated.
The general coordinator, Edo Unity League, Prof. Akenuwa J. Obarogie, who revealed it in a statement on Monday, invited public and private tertiary institutions to make the museum a point of reference in practical and research explorations.
He added: “We also asked for cultural and corporate entities in Nigeria and in the diaspora, to gather the museum to be successful and attract other multinational investments of cultural heritage in our dear state”.
Prof. Akenuwa observed that the recent approval of the Museum of West African Arts by an intellectual of world arts and culture – Sommo priest Osemwengie Ebohon, is worthy of emulation and deserving of praise.
