Scorenigeria can exclusively report that plans have reached an advanced stage for the coaches who will take the Super Eagles to the AFCON 2025 in Morocco in December.
Scorenigeria first reported that NFF technical director Augustine Eguavoen is now being tipped to succeed Eric Chelle as Super Eagles coach in the likely event Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
All permutations about Super Eagles’ chances will come to an end after their final qualifying game against Benin on October 14 in Uyo.
Eric Chelle will be the first scapegoat if Nigeria fails to qualify for back-to-back World Cups as he will be sacked and Eguavoen will return to the top spot for the fifth time.
Scorenigeria has now further gathered that his first assistant will also be former Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso.
“The coaching combination that is proposed is Eguavoen to be assisted by (Ladan) Bosso,” reported a highly placed source Scorenigeria
Bosso is very politically connected and is currently the coach of promoted NPFL side Barau FC, whose owner is the vice president of the Senate who enjoys a great relationship with the NFF leadership.
He led the Flying Eagles in his final two seasons before public pressure forced the NFF to replace him with Aliyu Zubairu.
His ambition has always been to participate with the Super Eagles and this could be the opportunity to make this dream come true.
