Embrace us with open arms, Fintiri implores the stakeholders of Adamawa APC

Amid stiff opposition from some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has formally assumed leadership of the party in the state, with an appeal to party members to embrace them with open arms.

He assured that he will accompany everyone in managing the party’s affairs.

Fintiri gave this assurance on Tuesday in Yola, while addressing a huge crowd of APC supporters and stakeholders, at an elaborate occasion organized by the Adamawa State chapter of the party to officially welcome him into their fold.

Speaking at the event, the governor explained that his decision to move to APC was not personal but born out of patriotic desire to work with other stakeholders to accelerate the development, growth and stability of the State.

“This is a completely new movement and we are not defecting but just falling in line. I want to urge our members who have been in APC before to quickly settle in and embrace us to build this new family.

“Let me be clear to those who doubt Thomases: we are not here to take command, we are here to exchange hands in friendship, to work together for the betterment of our state,” he said.

He further noted that platforms may change, but the desire to build a greater Adamawa State remains constant.

He assured that he will continue to provide the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people of the state even more than ever.

He attributed his successes so far to the collective efforts and support of the people of Adamawa.

Speaking earlier, the Adamawa State APC Chairman, Barrister Idris Shuaibu, thanked the governor for joining the party and bringing down the structure of the PDP in the APC.

He assured him of their commitment, loyalty and honesty in making the relationship work for the betterment of the people of Adamawa State.
