According to the former Nigerian leader, God did not make a mistake in keeping him alive and healthy at his age, adding that he would remain alive as long as his creator wanted.

Obasanjo said: “For my final note in this speech, I want to draw your attention to the work of some who never fare well.

“They publish and spread a false article credited to me as I am writing, giving news of my death, pafuka.

“This is their desire and definitely not what God desires for me. God has assured me that He has more for me to do on earth and has given me the means to do it.k

“And those who wish otherwise will be dealt with by God Himself. Io dey kampe as usual.” [TNG]
