Sam Sodje criticizes NFF over Super Eagles friendly matches

Former Nigerian international Sam Sodje has criticized the NFF for the caliber of friendly matches organized for the Super Eagles following their recent Nations Cup campaign.

Speaking to Brila.net, Sodje expressed his frustration over the decision to organize friendly matches against Jordan and Iran during the current international window.

He questioned whether the parties really match Nigeria’s level and ambitions.

“I feel sorry for the Nigerian fans, not only sorry for them but for myself, it shows that that is where we are.

“What is the reason for playing against Jordan? There must be a reason? Do we have an opponent or a competition where a team like Jordan plays? What is the reason?”

“I can’t say anything because I am not the Nigerian Football Federation, this is not about criticizing but we have to be honest with ourselves, do they really know what they are doing?

“It’s a shame and I hope one day we get it right.”

Sodje, who earned five caps for Nigeria, has been a consistent critic of the federation’s handling of football affairs in the country.
