NAN reporter named finalist for global awards in France

An Editor of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Martha Agas, has been selected as a finalist for the Women Changing the World Global Awards to be held in April in Paris, France.

Agas was selected from more than 1,500 nominations from 97 countries as a finalist in the Woman in Media category.

The organization released the finalists on its website https://wcwawards.com/finalists/ on Monday.

She was nominated for the development journalist award for reporting stories that highlight vulnerable and marginalized communities and draw attention to crucial social issues.

According to the awards coordinator, Anne Santos, the finalists’ written contributions will be independently assessed and evaluated by an international jury.

“The finalists with the highest scores will be awarded winner, runner-up and third-place winners,” he said.

He added that the judgment is based solely on the written application submitted, stressing that the jury’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

“Winners will be announced at the Women Changing the World Global Summit and Awards in Paris on April 22, 2026 and via global livestream,” it said.

Santos said finalists are also invited to apply to become published authors in the upcoming Women Changing the World Anthology (2027).

Agas was selected as a finalist alongside Angel France, Elena Di Fiore, JenLyn Ford, Karen Sander, Kirsty Nancarrow and Sharon Swietek in the Women in Media category.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Women Changing the World Global Awards were designed to recognize women creating significant impact in communities, industries and countries around the world.
