Nollywood actress turned evangelist Tonto Dikeh says she would rather face public criticism than stop speaking about her faith following backlash over a viral video showing her conducting a deliverance session on a schoolgirl.
The controversy started after Dikeh visited a school in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria to preach to its students. During the visit, he prayed for a female student and conducted what he described as a deliverance session.
A clip of the moment quickly circulated on social media, sparking mixed reactions. While some Nigerians praised the actress for sharing her beliefs, others condemned the act, describing it as inappropriate and calling it child abuse. Some critics even demanded that authorities investigate the incident.
In response to the backlash, Dikeh shared a post on his Instagram page Monday evening defending his actions and reaffirming his Christian beliefs.
