The naira appreciated in the official market on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, trading at N1,401.40 against the United States dollar.
Data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira gained N4.22 against the dollar in the autonomous Nigerian foreign exchange market.
The marginal recovery reflects the improvement in supply and demand dynamics in the official window after the recent volatility in the foreign exchange market.
The gain represents an appreciation of 0.3% from Monday’s closing rate of N1,405.62 to a dollar at the same market.
The local currency had seen a two-week decline before the latest rebound at the official window.
The naira depreciated by 0.8% on Monday, opening the trading week on a negative note.
