Terrorists deserve death, not… – TheConclaveNg

Deji Adeyanju, an activist lawyer, said terrorists and their sympathizers deserve death, not forgiveness.

Adeyanju said this while calling on the Federal Government to adopt a more rigorous approach in the fight against terrorism.

In a statement on his X page, Adeyanju argued that individuals involved in terrorism, as well as those who supported them, should face the death penalty rather than receive pardons.

He criticized what he described as the government’s tendency to show leniency towards terrorists, warning that such actions could undermine efforts to combat insecurity.

Adeyanju urged the Nigerian government to end policies that appeared aimed at pardoning or reinstating terrorists, insisting on the need for a firm and uncompromising response to deter violent extremism and protect citizens.

“Terrorists and their sympathizers deserve death, not forgiveness. The Nigerian government must stop condoning and courting terrorism,” he wrote.

This comes as the Defense Minister, Christopher Musa, assured Nigerians that terrorists and bandits were suffering heavier casualties in the ongoing military operations across the country.

Speaking to journalists after a security meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja, Musa said the military had briefed the president on the latest security situation and clarified what he described as “misleading interpretations” circulating in the media.
