Highway horror as Berekum Chelsea Star dies after robbery

Tragedy has struck the Ghana Premier League following the death of Berekum Chelsea striker Dominic Frimpong, who was fatally shot during an armed robbery on the team bus.

The incident occurred on Sunday night on the Bibiani-Goaso road when the team was returning from a league match, when armed robbers ambushed the bus and opened fire, forcing the players and officials to flee to nearby bushes for safety.

Frimpong, who suffered a gunshot wound during the attack, was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival, while several other members of the team reportedly suffered injuries in the chaos.

The incident has sent shockwaves through Ghanaian football, with growing calls for increased security for clubs traveling to matches as authorities are yet to release an official statement.
