Benue Service Chief dies

Benue State Head of Services, Dr. Agbogbo Ode, has passed away.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs Serumun Aber, confirmed the news in a statement in Makurdi.

He said: “It is with deep sadness and regret that the Benue State Government announces the death of Dr Agbogbo Ode, Benue State Head of Service.

“Sudden death occurred on Saturday, May 2 2026 after a short illness.

“Dr Ode was a consummate technocrat and a highly respected authority in the public service. His departure is a huge loss for the country.

“His credibility, hard work, brilliance and extraordinary contributions to the civil service will forever be remembered.”
