Mrs Ilebaye accused her father of wanting N50 million from BBNaija prize money

BBNaija All Stars winner Ilebaye Odiniga has been at the center of a family controversy after his mother publicly defended him against allegations made by his father.

The reality show star’s father, Emmanuel Odiniya, recently sparked backlash online after accusing his daughter of abandoning him despite winning the top prize of N120 million on the 2023 edition of the reality show. His claims emerged shortly after a viral video allegedly showed him assaulting the reality show star.

In an earlier statement, Odiniya accused Ilebaye of ignoring his medical needs and allegedly spending money on friends and celebrities.

However, in a new development, Ilebaye’s mother, Ms. Lami Calista, denied the allegations, claiming her ex-husband became angry after the reality star refused to hand over most of her prize money to him.

Speaking in a viral voice recording that circulated online, Lami accused Odiniya of demanding N50 million from Ilebaye after his win on the reality show. According to him, the reality show star has consistently supported his father financially over the years.

“When Ilebaye left the house, he gave his father N7 million for treatment in India. Last year, he again gave him N5 million and then added another N3 million because he thought it was not enough,” he said.

He further claimed that Ilebaye sent him money regularly and also met his younger brother’s school fees, adding that the reality star had allegedly spent over N30 million to support him.

Lami also dismissed allegations that her daughter used drugs or exposed her younger brother to harmful substances, and described the claims as an attempt to tarnish the reality star’s image.

“Ilebaye does not use drugs. He has suffered emotional abuse for years,” he said.

The controversy continues to generate widespread reactions online, especially following reports that Ilebaye suffered injuries during an altercation at his father’s residence. Neither Ilebaye nor his management have officially responded publicly to the latest claims.
