FCT Police Reactivates Operation “FCT Sweep Operations”, Instructs Personnel to Be Proactive and Maintain Professionalism


The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Sanusi, on Friday, reactivated a joint security operation codenamed “Operation Sweep FCT” in collaboration with other security agencies within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with the support of FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike.

A press release by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Josephine Adeh, said the renewed operation, aimed at deterring criminal activities, enhancing police visibility and ensuring rapid and coordinated multi-agency responses to security threats across the territory, was reported in Eagle Square, Abuja.

He said the operation includes personnel from the FCT Police Command, Army, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Federal Fire Service and other relevant security agencies.

The spokesperson explained that to ensure effective coverage and operational efficiency, the operation has been divided into sectors to enhance coordination, enhance rapid response capability and maintain a strong security presence across the FCT.

“The Command reaffirms its commitment to the protection of lives and property and urges residents of the FCT to remain vigilant, law-abiding and proactive in reporting suspicious activities through the Command’s emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08061581938,” he added.
