ADC shifted the implementation of screening for the positions of president and governor

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has postponed presidential and gubernatorial election exercises previously scheduled to be held this weekend.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi announced this on Saturday in a statement posted on his X handle.

The statement read, “The African Democratic Congress, ADC, wishes to inform all presidential and gubernatorial candidates that the party examination previously scheduled for this weekend has been postponed until Monday, May 18, 2026.

“In addition, due to the security situation affecting several regions in Northern Nigeria, the screening of affected federal parliamentary candidates will now take place in Abuja.

“All affected candidates will be contacted with the latest schedule and necessary details.

“We regret any inconvenience this adjustment may cause and appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all candidates and stakeholders,” it read.
