Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, believes that the coalition of opposition parties will not be able to have any impact or produce a president in 2027.
He regretted that the coalition had been dominated by greed which had divided it, with each group and party now producing many presidential candidates, not just one single candidate.
Dalung made this statement on Friday when he appeared as a guest in an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’.
He stated that the hopes of Nigerians were cut short by the disunity of opposition leaders.
“Greed has taken over. You can see the manifestation of individual ambition and self-interest, and the list of presidential candidates seems endless.

“The opposition political elites are more interested in their personal ambitions to access power, and that is why they are fragmented from one political party to another.
“Nigeria has returned to the politics of the First Republic, where regions had their political parties. Elections have been divided in this regard, because almost all zones have presidential candidates.
“So, ultimately in 2027, we will probably face serious confusion ahead of the elections, because everyone will now defend their regions. The candidates will concentrate on the votes coming in from their regions,” he said.
