Troops kill suspected bandits, destroy hideouts in Sokoto

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have killed suspected bandits and dismantled their hideout in the highlands in Sokoto State.

The plateau is located in a community bordering Zamfara, around the villages of Dangulbi and Kurawa in Tureta Local Government Area of ​​Sokoto State.

Security sources revealed the news to journalists on Saturday in Sokoto.

The source, who asked not to be named, said several bandits, including the kingpin, were killed while many others escaped with gunshot wounds.

He added that the operation was carried out on June 4, in collaboration with other security agencies and local residents in the area, to ensure that the tempo would continue.

“The quick response, professionalism and courage demonstrated by our military personnel prevented a tragic incident from occurring.

“Let me once again reiterate our commitment to protecting the lives and property of our citizens.

“Soldiers engaged them in fierce battles. The bandits then withdrew and fled to the forests of neighboring countries.

“Soldiers also found several weapons and motorbikes,” the source said
