The Oyo government demolished the building where Adelabu’s kidnapped sisters, the twins, were kept

The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow where Mrs. Olaide John-Paul, and his twin sons were allegedly detained after they were kidnapped in Ibadan.

Mrs John-Paul is the younger sister of Adebayo Adelabu, former minister of power, and aspiring governor.

The building located in Lako Community, Aiyegun-Anaye road area in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, was demolished on Monday.

On June 3, John-Paul and his sons were ambushed and kidnapped by gunmen while on their way to take the twins to school. They were rescued on Saturday by security personnel.

Police later announced that officers arrested four suspected gang members linked to the kidnapping.

Ayanlade Olayinka, spokesman for the Oyo police command, said the suspects carried out weeks of surveillance on the family, attempted to recruit insiders at their home, and photographed their movements before carrying out the attack in Ibadan.

Olayinka said during rescue efforts, two suspects were killed, while one Wale Abolalewa, also known as “Oloro”, who was already on the police watch list for related criminal activities, was arrested.
