Another Super Eagles star ruled out of AFCON qualifiers

Super Eagles Nigeria will be without another key player when they begin the race to be in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations in September, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

The Super Eagles will begin their campaign to be in AFCON 2027 with a home draw in Uyo against Madagascar on September 23 before traveling to meet Madagascar four days later.

Ahead of the match, left-back Zaidu Sanusi is ruled out with an injury he suffered while playing for Portuguese side FC Porto last weekend.

There are also doubts over the availability of midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who is currently sidelined with an injury that keeps him out of action for Lazio.

Fallen striker Sadiq Umar, who scored for Valencia in LaLiga over the weekend, will also be unavailable due to a knock, and now another player has been added to the list.

French side Marseille’s Tochukwu Nnadi will undergo further examination following an MRI earlier in the week. It is feared that he has suffered a serious knee injury, which could rule him out for the rest of the season.

Whatever the diagnosis, the truth is that he will not be available for the start of the Super Eagles AFCON Qualifiers.
