NITDA said Nigeria should take advantage of AI-powered digital services

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) says Nigeria must move beyond traditional outsourcing and develop artificial intelligence-based digital services that can compete globally.

The Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, made the remarks during the “Workers of Nigeria” session held on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly in New York.

He said Nigeria had an opportunity to leverage its young and talented population to build a stronger digital economy.

According to NITDA, Nigeria must not only embrace artificial intelligence but must also develop skills that enable Nigerians to create digital technologies and solutions.

The agency said artificial intelligence is transforming the global technology industry and creating new opportunities for countries with skilled workers.

NITDA also highlighted the importance of developing digital skills and creating an environment where Nigerian technology professionals can provide services to customers around the world.

The agency said Nigeria’s competitive advantage must go beyond traditional outsourcing and include AI-powered information technology services.

The development of AI-based services could create new opportunities for businesses and technology workers in Nigeria.

NITDA’s position also highlights the growing importance of artificial intelligence in Nigeria’s plans for economic development and participation in the global digital economy.
