Wike praises Dunamis Church for Abuja Pedestrian Bridge

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has commended the Dunamis International Gospel Center for the construction of a pedestrian bridge along the busy Airport Road, Abuja.

Wike ‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌gave the eulogy in Abuja on Friday during the inauguration of the pedestrian bridge constructed at the Church headquarters, the 100,000-seater Glory Dome, in Abuja.

He described the project as an “exemplary model of corporate social responsibility (CSR)”.

The minister revealed that although the Church sought approval to build the facility in 2018, the request was only brought to its attention in February 2026, leading to its swift approval within a month.

He described the endorsement as “evidence of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to good governance,” urging members of the Church to support government with proven ability to respond to the needs of the people.

He stated that “the government cannot do everything alone; there is no place in the world where the government shoulder all the burdens. That’s why we emphasize global social responsibility.”

To further encourage community-driven infrastructure, the minister announced that the FCT Administration (FCTA) will cover 50% of the total cost incurred by the Church for the construction of the bridge.

He commended the Senior Pastor of Dunamis, Dr. Paul Enenche, and his wife, Dr. Becky, for demonstrating leadership and sacrificing Church resources to save lives and improve human well-being instead of focusing solely on winning souls.

Previously, Enenche said the decision to build the pedestrian bridge was driven by concerns over the frequent fatal accidents recorded along the Airport Road axis.

“The Church plans to add modern aesthetic roofing, safety lighting and clear side panels to the facility to protect patrons from the elements and increase compliance,” he said.

He urged public-spirited individuals and leaders to live for social impact and keep eternity in view, stressing that resources must be deployed for the collective good of humanity.
