South African singer Dzo 729 delivers a gripping tune with Rekere 2, positioned as track 11 on the expansive 20-track CD, My Music. This release is scheduled for 2026 and is a conscious project-centric approach, focusing on the connection and flow of the entire body of music rather than individual standalone singles.
The fact that “Rekere 2” is placed where it is on the album shows that it is important to the story or themes of My Music. With a project consisting of 20 tracks, every single contribution, including this one, is necessary to create an entire listening experience from start to finish.
Dzo 729’s consideration of the overall project allows the listener to take My Music as a whole, allowing connections between pieces like Rekere 2 to contribute to the larger creative narrative. The 2026 release is a handpicked collection that continues the examination of South African arts.
