Napoli still hoping to tie Osimhen down with long term contract

Napoli director Mauro Meluso has confirmed Victor Osimhen’s return to Italy following his short visit to Nigeria.

Osimhen traveled to Nigeria, where he had been sorting out a personal matter regarding his brother-in-law Okolo Osita, who is sued him for unpaid commission following his the transfer from Lille.

The Capocannoniere is very close to being available for selection again after almost three weeks on the sideline.

“Osimhen is back. The medics will evaluate him on Thursday (Today) to see when he will be back on the field, it was predicted to be five or six weeks out when he first suffered the injury.”

Muleso, also revealed the club will continue to engage the forward and his entourage over aa new contract agreement.

“We have been talking about his contract for months, so even if the negotiations are getting on a bit, we will continue along the right path to take.”

Osimhen has scored six goals for Napoli this season.
