Abia Comets FC Clinches First NNL Victory with 2-0 Triumph Over Beyond Limits FA

Abia Comets FC secured their first victory of the Nigeria National League (NNL) season by defeating Beyond Limits FA 2-0 in a dominant display at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

Jonah James and Chinatu Eluwa were the goal-scoring heroes for the home team in the Southern Conference Group A Matchday 2 encounter.

The Umuahia Township Stadium witnessed a substantial turnout of fans, creating a vibrant atmosphere as the Abia Comets aimed for their maiden NNL win of the season.

The host dominated the early stages, with centre-back Churchill Nnanna and others creating scoring opportunities.

The breakthrough moment came in the 45+2 minutes when Jonah James brilliantly headed home a cross from Akpan Mfreke, giving Abia Comets a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

The goal injected confidence into the team and set the stage for a commanding second-half performance.

As the game resumed, Abia Comets made strategic substitutions, introducing Chinatu Eluwa and Chinedu Nwankpa.

Douglas Bueka, displaying a standout performance, nearly doubled the lead in the 56th minute, but his strike narrowly missed the target.

Chinatu Eluwa sealed the victory in the 63rd minute, capitalizing on a John Kelechi free-kick to make it 2-0.

The win not only secured three crucial points for Abia Comets but also served as a morale booster for their upcoming Matchday 3 clash against Madiba FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Lagos.

In addition to the on-field triumph, the day was special for the fans present, as Abia Comets organized Special Features and Raffles Draws.
