Saida Raheem (aka Eleshe Ni), a young female boxer based in Lagos, has revealed three of her most ardent ambitions that she wants to achieve before she reaches adulthood.
The first is to represent Ogun State in the next major national boxing championship, the second is to wear the colours of Nigeria at the 2028 Olympics and the third is to attain top marks as a fashion designer.
Although Saida has difficulty expressing herself in fluent English, she does not let this threaten her ambitions and does not harbor any complexes.
Although she is quite shy, Saida does not harbor any inferiority complexes, as the energetic girl is very ambitious and has already set her sights on where she wants to be in the next five years.
Saida then revealed how determined she is to make her mark in both boxing and tailoring, hence the zeal with which she trains every night, after spending the morning and afternoon at work.
Friends and neighbors have noticed the passion with which he approaches his blend of two vocations, and many believe he will soon become big at his current pace.
Saida acknowledged the support she receives from various quarters on a daily basis, especially from her parents, which she says has increased her enthusiasm and fueled her zeal for glory.
“I chose boxing because I like it,” she emphasized, “my parents support me to be a boxer because they want me to be a champion.
“I don’t fight on the street, but I started boxing simply because I like it.”
She also spoke about her career so far and revealed where she is determinedly headed to achieve a happy future in boxing and fashion design.
“I have had three fights so far and won them all. That further increased my interest in boxing.
“I am happy to be doing well in the 56kg category and, for now, no one can beat me there.
“I have not represented any state so far but I hope to fight for Ogun State and then help Nigeria in the Olympics.
“I also want to be successful in my tailoring work, what we now call fashion design.
I sew women’s clothing such as dresses, shirts and blouses, as well as robes and tops for women’s native garments.
“I manage to combine boxing and fashion design by working in the shop from morning to afternoon, and then I train at night,” Saida revealed.
