Saudi Arabia appoints Nigerian Olympic star as technical director

Udo-Obong, who won gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, will take up his new role this weekend.

The Olympian will lead the Saudi Arabian team to the Paris Olympics, which begin on July 26.

Prior to this role, Udo-Obong served as the Technical Director of the Lagos State Athletics Association.

His appointment follows that of Michael Emenalo, another Nigerian, who was recently appointed Technical Director of the Saudi Professional Football League.
