Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau on Monday instructed the Nigerian U-20 women’s team, Falconets, to focus, heed the coach’s instructions, work hard and be disciplined in order to achieve success in this year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup finals in Colombia.
Nigeria, who have finished runners-up twice, came close to lifting FIFA’s second women’s trophy, but Gusau believes hard work, discipline and dedication can see the Falcons climb the podium this time around.
She said: โI know our country’s pedigree in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup. Your predecessors have won the silver medal twice and reached the semi-finals once. Now it’s time for the best.
“I believe that with discipline, hard work, dedication, focus and prayer for good fortune in the game, you can emerge victorious. These are the qualities required to achieve success.
“The NFF will continue to provide the support and encouragement you need to excel,” Gusau said while addressing the players after their morning training session at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project on Monday.
