The Defense Headquarters claimed on Friday that troops deployed to various parts of the country had killed 125 suspected terrorists, in the past week.
Director of Defense Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, disclosed this while providing an update on military operations across the country.
He said troops arrested 200 others and rescued 140 hostages during the period.
Buba said his troops recovered 120 different types of firearms and 1,793 different ammunitions consisting of 56 AK47 rifles, 26 locally made rifles, 22 Dane rifles, one SMG rifle and seven pump-action shotguns.
Other items that were successfully secured were a homemade Barretta pistol, 5 60 mm mortar bombs and Unexploded Ordinances ammunition, 1,244 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, 383 rounds of 7.62 mm NATO ammunition, 88 rounds of 7.62 x 54 mm ammunition, 78 live bullets and 24 empty 7.62 mm ammunition casings.
The rest were – 21 AK47 magazines, one Baofeng radio, six vehicles, 11 motorcycles, five bicycles, 38 mobile phones and a sum of N2.7 million.

The spokesman said: “In the North East, Operation Hadin Kai troops neutralized 52 terrorists, arrested 40 suspects and rescued 14 kidnapped hostages in a week.
“The troops found 23 AK47 rifles, seven homemade rifles, five Dane rifles, one SMG rifle, 16 magazines, 408 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, 112 rounds of 7.62 mm NATO ammunition, 88 rounds of 7.62 x 54 mm ammunition, and 5 60 mm mortar bombs.
“In North-Central, Operations Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke troops neutralized 22 insurgents, arrested 38 violent extremists, and rescued 27 kidnapped hostages.
“In the Northwest region, Hadarin Daji troops managed to neutralize 31 terrorists, capture 21 terrorists, and rescue 30 kidnapped hostages and seize a number of weapons.”
