Bauchi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Salisu Gamawa, has applauded Governor Bala Mohammed for ensuring that the State Sports Festival resumes after 41 years.
Gamawa said the ministry will serve as a blueprint to take the state to the next level in sports.
He said: “I would like to thank His Excellency Governor Bala Mohammed for making the festival possible and for providing the funds for its successful celebration.
“I congratulate the winners of the festival for their performances. There is a saying that luck is when preparation meets opportunity, which means you are privileged to represent your local government. I want to thank all 20 local government areas for honouring our invitation. We believe they have made a great sacrifice by participating in this festival. Special thanks to former Super Eagles player, Patrick Pascal (MON) for ensuring that we had an entertaining men’s football final at the stadium.
“We have to do well and make a big difference in our time, I believe this will be the beginning of bigger things in the sports sector of Bauchi State.”
