The APC New Media Leadership is deeply alarmed and outraged by the continued sinister attempts by Governor Godwin Obaseki and the PDP to manipulate the upcoming elections in Edo State through criminal ballot harvesting. This brazen act of voter suppression is not only a slap in the face of democracy but also a direct attack on the future of every Edo citizen. We cannot remain silent in the face of such blatant disenfranchisement.

Just yesterday, a shocking video emerged from Ikpoba Okha LGA, exposing the unnatural alliance between INEC staff and the PDP in this reprehensible act. A brave woman in the video exposed how ballot papers are being collected en masse to swing the election in favor of the PDP. This is not just an isolated incident; it is a calculated and coordinated attack on our right to freely choose our leaders. The cries of the opposition parties, especially APC and LP, have fallen on deaf ears, as the relevant authorities appear to have turned a blind eye to this ongoing electoral fraud. This is not just negligence; it is complicity.

Our investigations reveal that this injustice is not limited to one area. Across the state, especially in Unit 6 (Edokha Primary School, Ukhomedokha), Ward 10 (Okpekpe), APC members who recently registered for their PVCs are finding that their cards have disappeared. This pattern is being repeated across Edo State, targeting those who oppose the current regime. The question we must ask ourselves is this: Why is the PDP, under the leadership of Obaseki, so desperate to suppress the votes of the very people it claims to serve? If the Obaseki administration has truly served the people well, why resort to such desperate and despicable tactics?

The truth is clear: the PDP knows it has lost the trust and confidence of the people of Edo State. This latest act of ballot manipulation is a desperate attempt to cling to power at all costs. But know that Edo State is not for sale. We, the people of Edo, will not stand by and watch our future be mortgaged by those who have failed us time and again.

To the PDP and Governor Obaseki, we say this: Your time is up. The people of Edo have seen through your deceit, and no amount of manipulation will protect you from the judgment of the people. Any attempt to impose Asue Ighodalo, a foreigner with no connection to the struggles and aspirations of our people, as the successor to your failed administration will not be accepted. Edo State deserves a leader who understands our pains, not someone hand-picked by a failed governor to continue a legacy of failures.

To all Edo citizens, this is a call to action. We must unite to protect our democracy. The power of the people is greater than the people in power. Let us ensure that our voices are heard and our votes count. We must demand accountability from INEC and ensure that every Edo citizen has the right to exercise their franchise freely and fairly. We owe it to ourselves, our children and the future of Edo State.
