Abdul has re -elected president of the Federation for Nigeria weight lifting

Abuja (basic reporter) in a solidarity show and affirmation of continuity, the Board of Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, (NWF) has returned dr. Ibrahim Abdul as president for a second term.
The re -election of dr. Abdul took place at the NWF 2025 elective congress held in the gym hall, the B pack B of the Mosupo Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday.
Although he was the only candidate for the position, he interviewed 12 votes of the 12 members of the Executive Council to keep his office for the next four years.
In the other positions that were supervised by the National Sports Commission, by the director of the Federation of the Department of elite athletes (FEAD), by the Nigeria Olympic Committee and by others, Lawrence Iquaborn was elected as the new vice president of the Federation.
The member of the Africa Federation (WAF) and the International Pensi lifting federation (IWF), interviewed a total of 8 votes to beat his opponent, Mr. Nwankwo Innocent who had four votes.
In the same way, in the position of the technical representative, the onubaye coach Sefia defeated the historical operator Christopher Nwadei from 34 to 4 votes to be declared winner.
The position of the athletes’ representative was won by the Bronze Medal of the Commonwealth Games of 2022, Osijo Taiwo who was the only candidate.
According to a press declaration issued by the media officer of the Federation, Amaechi Agbo, he observed that the new members of the Board of Directors made up of dr. Ibrahim Abdul, President: iquaborn Lawrence, vice -president, Ibeh Luke, Olarinaye Steve, Nwankwo Innocent, among others.
Meanwhile, the National Sports Commission NSC has praised the Nigeria weight lifting federation for its commendable results since dr. Ibrahim Abdul took on the leadership of the Federation in September 2021.
